Waqas has worked as a cyber security consultant for Fortune 100 companies. His expertise includes code reviews, black box assessments, product reviews and custom tools development. He has also collaborated with Microsoft Research (MSR) in the development of a static code analysis tool used for identifying areas of vulnerabilities in code and was featured in Microsoft's Information Security Newsletter. Waqas has also been credited with the discovery and disclosure of vulnerabilities in many tech products.
Chief Revenue Officer
Ryan has 25 years of successful sales and entrepreneurial experience in starting, marketing and selling diverse businesses. In 1997, he started International Student Tours, the world's first online travel company. As founder of the company, he recruited and trained over 100 sales representatives, negotiated with hospitality venues throughout Mexico and South America, and provided complete vacation packages for over 5000 customers. His efforts in turn generated over $5 million in revenue before he sold his venture to the industry leader. Ryan won the City of Seattle Mayor's Business Award and was the Ernst and Young "Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist." Ryan holds a degree from the University of Washington's Foster School of Business with certificates in International Studies of Business and Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
Michael Stein has 30 years of experience working with technology companies and nearly 25 years of experience advising clients in the field of intellectual property protection and enforcement. Michael has extensive experience counseling technology-oriented clients - primarily in the electronics, telecommunications and software industries - in complex matters concerning U.S. and international patent laws. Michael's experience includes patent portfolio development and counseling, USPTO post-grant litigation proceedings, and client counseling in respect to industry standard-setting activities and open source software. Michael is also active in the Seattle-area startup community and is on the advisory board of a number of startups.
Shannon Smith describes himself as a "geek-at-heart with a couple of business degrees on the surface." Shannon started writing code on TRS-80s in the late '70s and progressed to running BBSs from his Commodore64 via a 300 baud modem in the '80s. With 25+ years of executive leadership, business operations, and technology sales experience, Shannon is a serial entrepreneur and veteran of the VR, Internet, SaaS, big data, computer hardware, SAN storage, enterprise software and media content security.
